District Nurses

Pamela and Jennifer, District Nurses

District Nurses work in a District Nurse Team along with Community Staff Nurses and Health Care Support Workers. A District Nurse has completed additional specialist training for this role.

A District Nurse visits housebound people who need nursing care and support. They work closely with patients and their families, as well as other Health and Social Care professionals. District Nurses enable you to remain living in your own home independently.

In Aberdeenshire, District Nurses are attached to GP practices. You may be referred to a District Nurse by your GP or other professionals who are providing you support. Some District Nurses can review your dementia and general health and offer support through an annual check up.
